Yadgir District Committee Decides to Organize Strike Against Delay in Payment of Pending Salaries, Incentives and Other Allowances

A meeting was held today by the Yadgir District Committee regarding the long-pending salaries,Incentive and various allowances of Community Health Officers (CHOs) working in Yadgir district. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on several critical issues affecting the CHOs.

Major Demands of Community Health Officers (CHOs):

  1. Continuous delay in payment of monthly salaries.
  2. Pending incentive amount for the year 2024.
  3. Pending incentive amount for the year 2025.
  4. Pending arrears, bonus, TA bills, and internet bill reimbursements.
  5. Pending Group-D fund payments.
  6. Pending Health Mela remuneration.
  7. Disciplinary action and transfer of officials who are allegedly harassing CHOs for raising their voices against corruption.

Several written representations have already been submitted to the Honorable District Health and Family Welfare Officer and the Honorable District Surveillance Officer. Repeated oral requests were also made. However, no action has been taken so far to resolve these issues.

Speaking on the occasion, Christopher, President of the Yadgir District Committee, said that despite repeated appeals and assurances, the authorities have completely failed to clear the pending salaries and allowances of Community Health Officers. He stated that CHOs are facing severe financial hardship due to this continuous delay and are being mentally harassed for questioning corruption and irregularities. He warned that if the administration continues to ignore their legitimate demands, the CHOs will be left with no option but to intensify their protest.

After detailed deliberation, all office bearers and members of the Yadgir District Committee unanimously decided to launch a strike.

Accordingly, the strike has been scheduled to begin on 28.01.2026, and the further course of action will be announced shortly.

It was also informed that a formal protest notice will be submitted on 13.01.2025 to the District Health Officer (DHO) and other concerned officials by the union.
