The Akhila Karnataka State Community Health NHM Contractual Employees Union (R) has requested the Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Government of Karnataka, to amend the Jana Arogya Samiti (JAS) order in accordance with the Government of India (GOI) guidelines.
The request was made by State President Mr. Mamit Gaikwad, who stated that the amendment is necessary to ensure community-based governance, transparency, and accountability as envisioned under the National Health Mission (NHM).
The Union urged the authorities to bring the JAS structure fully in line with the GOI framework and to take immediate steps to implement the amendment across the State.
Mr. Gaikwad emphasized that aligning the JAS with GOI guidelines will help strengthen local participation and improve the delivery of public health services in Karnataka.
