The Akhila Karnataka State Community Health NHM Contractual Employees Union (R) warmly welcomes the decision of the National Health Mission, Karnataka, to approve Menstrual Leave (MC Leave) for women employees.
The Union had consistently submitted representations and pursued the matter with the Department on multiple occasions, requesting a dedicated menstrual leave policy to support the health, dignity, and well-being of women employees. We are pleased that the Department has positively considered this long-standing demand.
This decision reflects a progressive and employee-friendly approach towards creating a healthier and more inclusive workplace for women. The Union sincerely thanks the Mission Director, NHM, and the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, for taking this positive step.
The Union remains committed to working constructively with the Government and NHM authorities to safeguard the rights and welfare of all contractual NHM employees and will continue to pursue other long-pending employee welfare demands.
