Important Information Regarding the New HR Policy and Its Impact on Community Health Officers and NHM Employees

Press Release.

29.11.2025|Bengalore

We have brought to the attention of the Honorable Health Minister the severe consequences that the new HR Policy may have on Community Health Officers (CHOs) and all 28,000 NHM employees and their families, particularly regarding the potential threat to job security.

Upon reviewing these concerns, the Honorable Health Minister has responded positively, stating, ā€œThis is a proposal from the Principal Secretary; we will review it and take a decision accordingly.ā€ Additionally, the Minister mentioned that the appraisal system could be implemented effectively.

We have also conveyed that if this proposal is not reconsidered, it may lead to large-scale protests in the future.

Mamit Gaikwad, State President of the Akhila Karnataka State Community Health NHM Contractual Employees Union, has emphasized that ā€œthe Union is committed to protecting the interests and rights of all workers, and we will continue to take all necessary steps, including legal and administrative actions, to ensure that no harmful policy is implemented.ā€

We want to reassure all Community Health Officers that there is no need to fear or be confused. The Union is actively taking preventive actions, including legal and administrative steps, to safeguard the interests of employees.

The Union’s Commitment: The primary goal of the Union is to protect the future, job security, and service rights of all workers.

Key Points:

  1. The Union will take strong actions to ensure that no policy is implemented against the welfare of the workers.
  2. The Union stands united with all employees — together, we can ensure that no harm comes to us.
