Today, the Community Health Officer (CHO) successfully conducted Village Health & Nutrition Day (VHND) and Village Health, Sanitation & Nutrition Committee (VHSNC) meeting at Udeva AAK under Santhaveri PHC.
During the programme, the community was provided essential awareness and guidance on the following key health topics:
🔹 Health & Nutrition Awareness
• Importance of balanced nutrition for women, children, and adolescents
• Prevention of anaemia through iron-rich foods, IFA supplementation and deworming
• Growth monitoring, maternal health, and newborn care practices
🔹 NCD (Non-Communicable Diseases) Prevention
• Screening of BP, diabetes, breast cancer and oral cancer under NPCDCS
• Healthy lifestyle changes — physical activity, reduced oil & salt intake
• Avoiding tobacco, alcohol and other risk factors
🔹 Communicable Diseases Control
• Prevention of dengue, malaria, TB, diarrhoea and other infectious diseases
• Importance of mosquito control, early treatment and completing full medication course
• Handwashing practices and cough etiquette promotion
🔹 Safe Water & Sanitation Practices
• Use of boiled/filtered safe drinking water
• Universal household toilet usage and stopping open defecation
• Safe food handling and hygiene practices
🔹 Solid & Liquid Waste Management
• Household-level segregation and safe disposal of waste
• Organic waste composting
• Avoiding stagnant water to prevent mosquito breeding
The VHSNC members participated actively, discussed village-level health challenges, and prepared action plans to improve sanitation and community health outcomes.
The CHO encouraged continuous community involvement to strengthen public health initiatives and ensure the overall well-being of all villagers.
