The District President of the Community Health Officers (CHO) Union, Tumakuru District, has formally brought to the notice of the Hon’ble District Health and Family Welfare Officer (DHO) the serious issue of non-release of pending salaries and 14 months’ flood-related incentives to Community Health Officers working in the district.
Despite repeated representations and assurances, the long-pending dues of CHOs have not yet been cleared, causing severe financial hardship to employees who are delivering essential primary healthcare services at the grassroots level.
In this regard, the district Union has clearly brought to the notice of the authorities that if the pending salary arrears and flood incentives are not released immediately, the CHOs of Tumakuru district will be compelled to initiate a district-wide strike as a last resort.
The Union has emphasized that any proposed action will be conducted in a peaceful and democratic manner, holding the administration responsible for any disruption of healthcare services resulting from continued delay in settling legitimate employee dues.
The Community Health Officers urge the district administration and higher authorities to take immediate and decisive action to release all pending payments and ensure the smooth functioning of healthcare services.
