Home-Based Palliative Care Services Provided to 74-Year-Old Bed-Ridden Patient in Koppa

As part of the ongoing community palliative care initiative, Community Health Officer (CHO) Jibi P. J. from Ayushman Arogya Kendra, Koppa Rural, Chikamagalur District, conducted a home visit to provide essential health services to a bed-ridden patient suffering from stroke, hypertension, and chronic illness, residing in Abbigadde, Koppa.

During the visit, the following home-based services were provided:

  1. Blood sugar level was checked.
  2. Blood pressure was monitored.
  3. Physiotherapy exercises were demonstrated to family members for daily practice.
  4. Health education was provided on nutrition, personal hygiene, and ensuring dignity for the elderly patient

This home visit highlights the department’s and Community Health Officers commitment to delivering compassionate, doorstep healthcare services to elderly and chronically ill patients in rural areas
