The petition submitted by the Akhila Karnataka State Community Health NHM Contractual Employees Union (Regd.) regarding the regularisation of services of Community Health Officers (CHOs) has been officially accepted through the Commissioner on behalf of the Karnataka State Contract Labour Advisory Board.
After examining the petition, the Member Secretary of the Advisory Board, on behalf of the Government of Karnataka, has issued an official notice seeking the opinion of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
In this context, the Union has strongly demanded that the State Government and concerned authorities initiate the process for the regularisation of Community Health Officers (CHOs) in Karnataka under Section 10 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, without further delay.
The Mamit Gaikwad State President further stated that since there has been no response from the Department of Health and Family Welfare for over three months within the stipulated time, a second petition has now been filed before the Advisory Board seeking further action and intervention in the matter.
