The Akhila Karnataka State Community Health NHM Contractual Employees’ Union hereby informs the media and the general public that, on 18th December, the advocate representing the Union appeared before the Hon’ble Court in connection with the long-pending 5% annual increment for the year 2022–23 due to Community Health Officers (CHOs).
During the hearing, the Hon’ble Court accepted the Vakalatnama filed on behalf of the Union and, upon preliminary consideration, issued notice to the concerned Health Department to file its claim/response in the matter. The case has been posted for next hearing on 29.01.2026.
The State President, Mr. Mamit Gaikwad, stated that Community Health Officers, who are rendering essential and continuous public health services under the National Health Mission, have been unjustly deprived of the legitimate 5% increment for the year 2022–23. The issuance of notice by the Hon’ble Court marks a significant step forward in the legal struggle undertaken by the Union to secure lawful service benefits for CHOs.
The Union remains hopeful that justice will prevail and urges the concerned authorities to address the issue responsibly, without compelling frontline health workers to pursue prolonged legal remedies.
Further updates will be communicated through official channels of the Union.
